    Dear Friends,

Hope you find these Useful ...

Body oils are part of daily body care regime for ages. These oils are in use even before the advent of any body care creams or lotions. Body oil when massaged on body does wonders for skin and also make a good exercise for body. One of the most striking features about oils is that they are free from any chemical. They are completely herbal. Body oils are safe for the skin.

    Benefits of Body Oils

Application of body oils makes the skin smooth, lustrous, soft, and clean. These oils should be massaged well to get the best results. Another benefit of massaging with body oils is that it increases blood circulation. Besides the beauty effects, it is very good for health. Oil seeps into the upper layers of epidermis and protects the skin from drying by capturing the moisture. Most of the natural oils obtained from herbs are used to treat various skin problems, nourish and revitalize the skin.

    Application of Body Oils

Body oils are easy to apply because of their viscosity and they get easily spread over the body. Another thing is that body oils are cheaper than various body lotions and body-care creams. You can apply and massage body oil before bath daily. It will smoothen the skin and removes the dead cells of skin. For moisturizing purpose you can apply it just after taking a hot bath and wash away extra oil. There is no need of massage; only application is enough. It will prevent your skin from drying, especially in winters.

There are many essential oils in use commonly like coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil, tea tree oil and sesame oil. Herbal Body oils are prepared from vegetable oils mixed with nutrients, extracts from herbs, which are biostimulants and anti-oxidants as it gives very effective results. Natural oils do not contain any artificial scent, color or stimulant. They are full of nutrients and minerals needed for skin.

    Use of Essential Body Oils

Use of essential oils for body is known as aromatherapy, which is an age-old practice. When you use essential oils, which are extracts from refreshing and fragrant plant, you will feel an uplifting effect in body and mind. The application of aroma oils brings out total relaxation in the mind, body and spirit. It creates feeling of confidence and receptivity. According to the results you want to achieve on your body, there are many ways to apply body oils.

Treating Health Conditions with Body Oils

Massage with body oils can be done for treating many health conditions such as stress, joint pains, menopause, headache, insomnia, nausea, relaxation, sinusitis, sprains, arthritis, restlessness etc.

Uses of Different kinds of Body oils

There are different oils for each part of body or you can use same oil for whole body also.

    - Sesame Oil and mustard oil are very good for whole body. Though mustard oil is used in winters especially because of it warm effect but sesame oil can be used for whole year, as it is light in texture.

    - Hands tend to dry more because of use of various soaps we use. For this you can use a mixture of almond oil and olive oil every night.

    - Our face has the most sensitive and most vulnerable skin, so we should use oil according to skin type. Jojoba oil is perfect for dry and normal skin types. For people having oily skin, oils from peppermint, camphor, cypress and clove can be used. If you have extremely sensitive skin, olive oil is the safest choice for moisturizing.

    - Use of oil on hair is the most common application of oil. You can choose oil according to the kind of hair you carry. Coconut oil is the most popular and shows best results for the normal hair. For the people with dry hair, mustard oil should be used. For the oily hair types, a blend of various oils like aroma oil and vegetable oils should be applied. To make the hair shiny, glossy and bouncy, you can use almond oil, emu oil and aloe Vera oil.

    - For reducing the under eye dark circle, almond oil should be massaged gently in circles under the eye. Almond oil contains the vitamin E, which is an important vitamin for the skin.
    - To prevent and reduce the cracks in heels, you can use essential oils.

    OIL your way to health...

    Dear IL Friends,Computer Typing

Don't you wish you could will all your hair and body problems away ? Dry and oily hair, frizz, muscular aches and pains are such downers. To keep all these at bay, look no further than the good OIL massage.

    Massage your blues away

An OIL massage (Hair and Body), improves overall blood circulation. It not only decreased brittleness but also nourishes hair and promotes further growth.

A good all-body oil massage also involves relaxation techniques that help in overall physical and mental well being. From the age-old coconut oil to a host of others, each oil has its own properties and is suited for specific problems.

A closer at the Oil, the massage and its benefits.

    COCONUT OIL:

Hair - It retards hair problems such as thinning and greying. If used regularly, it reduces hair fall as well.

Body - Coconut oil is considered to be the best oil for an all-body massage because it has anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. It also softens and moisturises skin, prevents wrinkling and sagging.

    SESAME OIL :

Hair - It is used for dandruff and oily hair. It penetrates easily to nourish and detoxify hair. Regular use decreases dandruff gradually.

    Body

Its relaxing properties ease pain and muscle spasm, such as backache and joint pain. Regular oiling of the skin restores moisture to the skin, keeping it soft, flexible and younger.

    OLIVE OIL :

Hair - Olive oil is best suited for thick, oily hair for its purifying effects and prevents hair form looking oily.

    Body
    - Olive oil helps combat dry skin, prevents wrinkles, softens skin, clears acne, soothes aching muscles and even strengthens nails.

    CASTOR OIL :

Hair - It is the best bet for scanty hair. Castor oil encourages hair growth and thickens hair gradually. Since it is extremely thick, mix a little in coconut oil and then apply.

    Body
    - Castor oil is used to heal scar tissue and draw out toxins. It is also used on dry, cracked feet and moisturises skin.

    ALMOND OIL :

Hair - Almond oil is used for dry and frizzy hair because it strengthens hair and smoothens out the frizz.

    Body
    - Almond oil suits most skins types but is especially good for dry skin. As the oil is very light, it penetrates the skin easily. It nourishes the skin and has anti-inflammatory properties.

    Massaging Your Hair

    • Take a middle parting and apply oil with cotton swab in partitions.
    • Start with the scalp and then move to the hair.
    • Massage in circular movement to increase circulation and penetration.
    • Continue massaging for at least 20 minutes.
    • After the massage put a hot towel on your head.
    • Leave for at least 20 minutes and then wash.
    Relaxing your body through Massage
    • Begin with your neck and shoulders and work downwards.
    • Use fingertips and palms to massage the body.
    • Use kneading, circular strokes to relax all muscles.
A good oil massage goes a long way to improve your physical and mental well being. Go on then, just do it!

    Regards... Suni :)

    Hi sunitha,

Useful information from you once again...!! Hats off to you !!

I use almost all the oils you have mentioned except the mustard oil.

For my children, i mainly use Coconut oil..since it is a safe bet and does wonders for their skin..especially during winter.

Almond oil is good for pedicures...when mixed with a little sugar/salt and orange peels.

    Cheers
