Blend In Or Be Included

Should we wear blazers and pant suits to BLEND IN,

Or Should sarees, skirts and frocks BE INCLUDED,

Neither! Accept us as we are

without judging us by our attire.


Should the gender pay gap be reduced to BLEND IN,

or Should I negotiate my pay scale to BE INCLUDED,

Neither! Move away from a discriminatory system

To a merit-based system.


Should I be coming more forward with my opinion to BLEND IN,

or Should I be asked my opinion sympathetically to BE INCLUDED,

Neither! Just stop interrupting and cutting off

and let us be heard more.


Should I have a better work life balance to BLEND IN,

Or Should more women friendly policies BE INCLUDED,

Neither! Just don’t stress us more with your own

gender based stereotypes at work and home.


Should I lose my originality in order to BLEND IN

Or Should I have mentors to guide me to BE INCLUDED

Neither! Just remove your unconscious bias

and treat us fairly without any prejudice.


Should you make efforts for us to BLEND IN

Or Should you campaign for us to BE INCLUDED

Neither! Just change your mindset towards women,

and build a culture of mutual trust and respect.
