Black, White, And Shades Of Grey

Is this world black and white
or are we living in shades of gray

perhaps those who we feel camaraderie
may be the ones who betray

perhaps those who we feel distain
may be the ones who save the day

is this world really black and white
or are we living in shades of gray

perhaps heaven may be a snake pit to us
while hell pops us up
and we are protected
from those who are jealous

sometimes when things seem so unclear
better we stand upside down
and look at it in another way

then we can truly understand who to fear
and whom are meant to stay

The world is not black-and-white
it’s shades of gray

no one is a complete angel
no one is a complete saint
even the devil was once innocent
for whom the sight of blood
caused him to faint

are we completely perfect
are we completely pure
we may sit pretty and dress well but
does it really mean that we are demure

Who is a true friend
and who is a feared enemy
surely some people pretend to be kind
but they are more of a Frenemy

duality
Ying and yang
they all seem to blend
the world is neither black or it’s neither white
it’s shades of gray
which is an ongoing trend
