Hi Friends, I used to try different cusines of India. Yesterday, I made this Bihari dal poori. It came out very well and here is the virtual feast and the recipe follows.. Enjoy and keep away your diet with this.
Recipe: For Stuffing: Channa Dal Green chilly Onion - 1 chilly powder jeera garam masala (Optional) Ginger garlic paste (Optional) For Dough: Wheat flour Rava/Sooji - 2 spoon salt Ajwain 1/2 spoon (optional) Method: Make the dough and keep it in fridge for 1/2 hour. So that the pooris will be crisp Pressure cook channa dal with turmeric powder very well. So that the dal could be mashed. When its cooked, drain the excess water, mash it with a blender and keep it In a pan, add little oil. Add jeera. When it splatters, add onion, then green chilly. When the onion is cooked, add chilly powder, garam masala and salt Saute well and let it cool Add the mashed chenna and saute well Switch of the stove and let it cool Make small balls from the dough Make the balls in to cup and keep the stuffing and cover it Roll it without pressure and stuffing should not come out Fry it in oil Now the Bihari Dal poori is ready. I served it with potato, tomato gravy. Enjoy the feast. These pooris are made on auspicious days in Bihar!!! Especially when new DIL come home.

Thanks Swashi. Stuffing wont come out. Thats why I asked you to roll with out pressure It will be fluffy but not as much as ordinary poori Side dish: Any side dish as you wish. My side dish recipe: Potato, tomato kootu: Pressure cook potato and mash it. In a pan heat oil, add mustard. When it splatters add tomato. Add sambar powder and salt When tomato cooked , add the mashed potato and add some water. Stir it. Allow it to cook for some time. Mix gram flour in water. Add it to the gravy. Cook it for one minute. Switch of the stove. Now the side dish is ready. If you wish you can add garam masala, onion of your taste
