    Hi,
You should wait till at least 5 years.....it used to be 7 years before, but these days kids are smart and parents want them to start early. As a teacher of this great classical form i would say safely 5 to 6 years is the ideal age:;. it is tough to master the basic steps, so better to start late!
    You have a long wait!

    Re: Bharathanatyam

    Ramya,

I just got through this forum!! New to UAE..and am a classical dancer for the past 22years. Trained in Bharathanatyam and Kuchipudi. Have you set up your own class here or did you get through to know any experienced performer. Just like you, i also want to get back to dancing. Can u give me a lead?

    Thanks,
    Roopa.

    hey friendz...

Very interesting topic! runs through. Thanjavur saraswathi mahal (museum) depicts with all the facets of steps as a statue. its nice to watch.

And one more query i have, do we have any age limitations for this art to learn. Even for a person who doesnt know anything to dance.

Plz...temme....i am willing to learn in this age of my 25.

Note: I can feel and heard of...art is of no age. suggest me plz.:hide:

You are absolutely right to learn any education or art form there is no age bar. You can learn Bharathanatyam at any age. Initially you will feel little bit hard. You have to be flexible. Good luck and learn this beautiful art form.
