    Hi Jenz,

As per my parents, Betal trees are treated as Vishnu-Lakshmi .They have to be planted separately in farm & that place is treated as holy.

So much so you cannot even we4ar slippers or go there in when you have your Periods.I do not know what opinion others have regarding this....

    My 2 cents...

    Regards,

    Corallux

Yes. I have a betel leaf plant in my home for the past 10 years. Whether, I use it or not, It is very fascinating to see the creeper as soon as one rain comes. The light green and dark green leaves are very eye-catching. I do put garland for Hanuman, I gift to betel-leaf lovers and ofcourse, it is handy while giving a thamboolam. I never purchase from outside. All you need is a cutting with or without roots, planted firm in the soil and regular watering. A little of sun and a little of shade is essential. Plant in such a place. That is more important. Only good water should be waterd. Not soap water while washing clothes etc.

    Pammor,

Can you please explain the method for taking a cutting from an existing betel vine? Is there any other way of growing this, apart from taking a cutting, or buying the plant from the nursery? Thanks.
