Best romantic book?

Me too vote for 'Bridges of Madison County' and second is 'Love Story' by Eric Segal.

I found the movie version of 'Bridges...' absolutely wonderful ! Meryl gives a splendid performance, :clapher struggle between love and family -- Wow !! Esp. the last scene , when she is in car at traffic signal -- brilliant film !!

 

I would vote for Whitney, my love and second is Kingdom of dreams - both by Judith McNaught

The quality of M&B has really gone down and is becoming sterotyped. In M&B books by authors Carole Mortimer & Emma Darcy are really good.

 

well i come to this thread to see the list of romantic books but seems like most of them i already read.

My first vote go to-"Pride & prejudice" brilliant book, 2nd to 'Bridges of Madison County' lovely & touchy story, 3rd to "Now & forever" by danielle steel good novel.

How is "Gone with the wind" is it very classy???

Love Story - Eric Segal is my choice till now.

 

My favourites have been apart from Jane Austen's P&P, Wuthering heights,Jane Eyre[by the Bronte sisters] and almost all of Georgette Heyer's romances,especially Devil's Cub.

 

my choice is of mills and boons. especially 'ruthless marriage proposal'..........its very romantic

 

My Favourite has been and will be for ever, The Scarlet Pimpernal by Baroness Orszy. It has the background of French revolution and is set in England and France. I fell in love with Percy Blakeney when I was in tenth grade. Even today, I love reading the book. Must have read it so many times!

 

I think Danielle Steele's PROMISE is the best romantic novels i have read in all my reading years!!! Of course a whole lot of Mills and Boon and Harlequin novels with a range of authors.
