It seems I have to start knowing the city again - just see what the long separation has done to my memory! Could some of you please help me out with the names of the best new picnic spots where we could hang out? I’m on the lookout... Plz help :help Nabanita
Hey, Take a chill pill dear, why make fuss over just a picnic? Why don’t you and your ‘phoren’ friends head to Raichak? They have a Radisson hotel overlooking the wide river out there. I’m sure you would love the some of the 5 star hotel grounds - there are several of them, you know. A great option if you are planning a night-halt after your picnic.:thumbsup Lemme know ur mind then...njoy Love, Bidisha
Hiya, Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten our old Victoria Memorial! No true Bengali can forget it no matter how long she remains abroad. Surely, your US pals would wow over its past glory while having fun in the green lawns. Drag them around to Maidan if you can…I bet you will have the loveliest picnic ever. Another good option is taking a river cruise over Ganges. There’s a company Vivada Waterways - these guys operate a day cruise over the Ganges in their own luxury vessels. They’d take you from Millennium Park Jetty at 12:00 noon and drop you there at 5:30 PM. Lunch is included and shore visits to Belur Math is also there in the itinerary. This would be another great option for you. Don’t just read it, give it a try! Bye, Sreejs
Hey Nita, Welcome to IL. Last time when I visited Cal, we went for a day picnic at Vedic Village… It’s a cool place to hang out. They have all those five star facilities – Spa, Gym, Pool, Jacuzzi, Multicuisine Restaurant – and Oh! U can stay in cottages – you know it has that “Gramer Bari” feeling. Its only a few kilometers from Calcutta, near that Rajarhat New Town – hardly a 30 mins. drive – Nice landscape too. You’d like it… sure! The water park Aquatica is also nearby. You can soak with ur US buddies there too, while staying for a day at Vedic village. Drowning Bye… Papiya
Hi All, Thanks for all the info… You gals are great! Now I’ve so many choices! Let’s see where I can go with all my "Phoren" friends. Will let you all know soon. Bye… Nabanita
