Best breastpump

    Dear ladies

    i have been blessed with baby girl few days back.I need a breast pump urgently.Pls advice which one to purchase.I have seen 2 in market- philips (manual Rs 3000 approx) and medela (electric Rs 7000 approx).Anyone having presonal experience with these two pumps? Pls guide if any other i can get in bangalore in affordable prices.My range max. 7000 rs. How much power there sh'd be if i buy an electric one

    hi rachna, hearty congratulations to both of you.medela breast pump is the best one.i used that.if it is possible to buy u can buy medela breast pump if not u can rent that.Breast pumps are really helpful if u pump for every 2 hours.

    Have been using Phillips avent single electric pump for the past 2 months and it works great.

    Unfortunately, philips electric is not available in India(last year)
    Medela is good. If you can spare a few more thousands, go for medela swing, instead of mini electric.
    Heard Philips manual pump is also great.

    thanks for advice ladies.i have purchased philips avent manual breast pump, but, the suction is very low. I am not able to extract desired quantity of milk which I can express with hands alone. Planning to buy an electric pump with good suction. plz advise.

    I have used Medela Swing here in the US and it worked good...The only thing is you can pump only one side at a time and that means you will have to spend twice the time...but since I did not have to work full time, this worked for me...for somebody who'd work full time, I'd recommend the double electric(or whatever the medela model is called)...saves so much time...
