    We all in some way or the other attached to something or the other always except attachment to the Lord who has created and given us this material world.But we like to stay here in some form or the other in some body and keep moving.Like once Lord Indra got a curse to be born as a Pig in the earth for his egoistic attitude towards a rishi and so he was born and living inbetween **** and mating and eating **** and finally one day came where his curse is to end and he was called to take up his position back on heaven but alas!! he said he likes to stay here because he liked to be in **** and mate in **** and eat ****!!! ha ha ha!!! such is our condition we all are attached to sex,food,drugs,TV,fame,friends,family,country,house,luxury and nowadays added to it FB,twitter and so on.Posing for a pic and posting and people commenting about and thats the end of all these and finally they dont really give you anything may be few friends whom you met in the past to get in touch but its all is MAYA.These all came in between and we all want them to with us always and they keep leaving us without our permission.

    Beyond these there is a spiritual life where there is eternal happiness and joy when the attachment is developed towards in loving the lord and offcourse to realize this it takes millions of birth.There are over 8400000 types of species and among them 400000 are humans and when we come to the form of human we are supposed realize that the last birth and question what is life why i am here ? what is all this why so many planets?? but rather we all keep seeing what we will get for enjoyment and pleasure and mess our self and create karma let it be bad or good and then we are born again as human or a dog or a pig or a tiger and we need to climb up again and come to a human form and then get the self realization.Life is a very serious business and we need take off our attachments and live an observer carried in this vessels and develop a loving service attitude towards the lord and go back in our spiritual form to the spiritual form of the Lord.In the total creation only 1/4 th is material world balance is all spiritual world.

    Be attached to unattached attitude to the world around you and be only attached to Lord who is in turn is the only saving person and eternal friendship for all living beings.

    Dear Sangeetha,

    Very well said. Good writing too.

    Life itself is an illusion. How ever hard we try to be unattached to the attached, somewhere down the line some strings pull us back to this maya. It is a very difficult exercise to keep oneself occupied with just the thought and meditation of the lord.

    As i am growing older I think i should give up a lot of attachments, but it is a slow process.

    attachments is heavy on us is because we have got so much attached to these material things for millions of years and this can cleaned in our hearts by repeating the maha mantra hare Krishna hare Krishna Krishna Krishna hare hare ;;hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare as much as possible.only by satisfying the lord we can get rid of the long strong attachments we have developed

    Being born human , we are destined to go through attachment with something or the other . Aiming to attain Moksha is also a kind of attachment . Having a goal, however spiritually superior it is , thats also Attachment .
    Un-attachment has to come in its own , after this human life has taught us the necesary lessons .
    " urvaruka bandhanat ...." says mrityunjaya mantra . The Cucumber has to fall off its Stalk when ripe and ready . It cannot be forced .

    Attachment to material things is not good whereas attachment to our loved ones is acceptable to certain extent. It should be also detached attachment. We can keep praying for their well being and should not get emotionally attached.
    As and when people become independent we should allow them to be on their own. If they solicit our advice then only we should give it.
    I believe in surrendering to the Lord with implicit faith in Him.
