Bbt Shows No Ovulation

    Hi all,

    I track my bbt to check ovulation and as per my chart I got temperature spike on cd13 but then next 2 days temperature just went down so I don’t know what happened
    I really thought I ovulated since I have a regular 27-28 day cycle and LP of 13 days so ovulation should happen around cd13-14 also I had fertile CM during that time suggesting that my body is getting ready for ovulation but now not sure what happened

    Can someone please help me here

    U mean u judge ur ovulation with basal body temp? Why don't u use ovulation kit? Digital ones work good.

    Yes BBT is not good way for tracking ovulation . Buy OPK strips .

    I am thinking of using opks from next cycle but gynac told me Opks don’t confirm ovulation, it just confirms that egg is ready to be released but not necessary that ovulation took place but bbt will confirm ovulation so...thinking of using both for next cycle
    Now looks like I ovulated Monday , need one more elevated temp to get crosshairs

    Use all OPK + BBT temp + cervical mucus changes .

    Even I prefer these 3 together. It' hard to judge with one method alone. With all three you might guess better.

    Hi Starkgirl,

    Can we use ordinary thermometer to track bbt or do we need to buy something specialized? Doesn't a temperature spike suggest Ovulation? Then what is the cause for your confusion? Do we need to have increased temp for more than a day during ovulation? I am also trying to conceive and your answers would help me to get started with tracking the bbt. Thanks

    Hi prathima I used ovasure but that was OK OK . Not great. If u r residing in USA or if u have some relative there ask her to buy digital ovulation kit . I used walgreens that's a local brand there. In India itself good digital kits are available. Hope others may guide u on this.

    Hey

    Yes, you need basal body thermometer it is not the same as normal thermometer. If you are residing in us you will get it in medical store or online also you can find .
    Even in India you can find it in amazon.

    And to confirm ovulation, you need atleast 3 continuous elevated temperature. I use fertility friend app to track my temp and this app help me determine when I ovulated and all.

    It is good , try it out

    Check my bbt chart( I ovulated on day15)
