    hai ,
the first solution to this problem is watch ur posture..
then u hav to make sure u get up and walk every 30 min.
the one remedy by which i got out of this problem is YOGA..
i really found how much my body was stiff when i started doing YOGA.. and after 6 months i hav almost forgotten my back ache and knee pain.
    Try YOGA
    regards,
    Anupama

Streching excercises for the back, neck and shoulders will help.

    1. Have your husband lie down on the floor on his tummy. Arms should be at the side. Then raise left arm and right leg up in the air and bring down. Repeat with right arm and left leg. Do this 10 times.

    2. The snake posture from yoga. Lieing on tummy lift upper torso suppoted by hands. Hold 1 minute. Repeat 5 times.

    3. Lie on back. Bring knees up to tummy and wrap arms around knees. Then roll back and forth as if your lower back was a fulcrum. Like a see-saw.

    hello

    sitting with computers
    long hours without moving about
    can cause back ache
    sometimes it is the posture
    by just changing your chair
    you can get relief

    try the bhujangasana
    called the cobra pose
    and halasana
    halasana cannot be done
    without practice
so just lie down on floor
    lift both legs slowly
    to ninety degrees
retain to a count of two hundred
    (initially to 50 then 100 then 200)

    this helps along with other
    measures for maintaining good health
    wake up early
    keep bowels clean
    with good fibre in diet
    with more fruits and vegetables
yoga and exercies must for atleast
    half an hour everyday
    a cheerful mind...
and thats good bye to backache..!

    sathya

    Hi Lakshmi,

I just saw your post.. I am going thro' a severe pain in the back both lower and upper.. I have been managing with this for the past 3 months and now it has become unbearable..so I went to doctor, who checked my back and suggested me physical therapy immediately.

I went to Physical Therapist for evaluation to check if anything is broken or any major issues.. but none. All I was suggested is PT for 4 weeks , 2 seesions per week.

Now, to confirm some of the things other ladies have mentioned, yoga does help, provided you do it the right way. I have been doing yoga for the last 3 years.. I was also told that its due to muscular stiffness and the PT is the best to get rid of the stiff back and then based on the Physical therapist's suggestion, you can learn all the right postures to avoid the same pain in future. The most important one being contract the stomach muscles all the time to have a healthy back.

I do work in IT and I do a 3 mile walk everyday along with yoga and some pilate', but nothing helps to get rid of the pain.

I am told to take tylenol if pain is unbearable along with PT.

Thats how I am managing nowadays.

Also, one interesting news about back pain is that if you have low level of B12 in your blood, that causes muscular spasm.. so do some blood work and check it out for yourself.

Come to think of it, my mom, grandma every one in the family struggled with back pain but managed with amrutanjan rub and occasional intake of ibuprofin tablets..no one has gone thro' sophistacated treatments like me. Also, in my case, it is the menopausal harmone that causes this back pain more than anythingelse.

     Geeth Priya
