    Hello OP,

Some babies are like that.. People say due to the body weight they dont crawl or move on hands and feets ( elephant walk) but directly tries to stand and walk .. this isnt any wrong or mistake ... as far as baby tries to move forward or backward is fine.. and oke .. you can make ur baby walk but since its 8 months now better dont allow to walk long as there is a tendency of bending of bones of leg which is getting strength to stand only ....

What is his weight? I think skipping crawling is not a big deal, many infants directly start standing.

Crawling is one milestone that many babies skip. From sitting position, some babies do tend to jump to the next milestone of standing with support.

If he can sit comfortably without any support, then you can leave him as-is and follow his cues.

Its perfectly normal for babies to skip a milestone or two. If he tried it and not comfortable let it go.
If his legs are strong enough to stand he will try it. But 8 months is too young to be standing. It puts a lot of pressure on knees and toes. His bones are still developing. Make sure he stands with support. Try to keep it to minimal for a month or two more. Massage his feet well everyday with oil to strengthen bones. Walker works quite well in this time they can sit as soon as they feel like it and dont fall much.
