I have used coconut oil, gingely oil, olive oil, castor oil for LO. Found coconut oil to be good. For hair I have applied olive oil.
coconut oil / gingely oil has the tendency of cooling the body. After a massage , when the body is suddenly cooled, the sudden dip in temperature may lead to cold and fever. Hence, we add some heat to the oil in the form of whole pepper or garlic , jeera. This is what i do : I heat around 500 ml of oil , so much to fry the 1/2 tsp of jeera . I reduce the flame, add 8-10 peppers and turn off the stove when i hear the sizzling noise. Let it cool to lukewarm temperature before you massage. After completely cooled, i transfer them to suitable containers for storing. This is how the oil is prepared. The oil need not be heated each time you massage, although you feel instant pain relief with lukewarm oil. Hope this helps.
Dear Karanu... We add garlic because garlic has antiviral and anti-bacterial properties, and is believed to boost the immune system.... and also relieves any kind of minor body ache
