hi dear ladies, i've a query.

i am 24 weeks pregnant now, and was on progesterone supplements till dat. earlier started with 800 mg/ day till 12 weeks then til now 400mg/day.

today i went to a new doc (nw i am with my mom so needed to change my doc) who is highly experienced and senior doctor, sh told me to stop the progesterone supplements cold turkey.
now what is worrying me is that will it cause any problem? or will it be fine to stop them now?

i have read everywhere on internet that progesterone is given only till 12 weeks and asked to stop.

    any ideas??? plz reply....

    hi 6teenpearls

Please do not worry. I had the same query few weeks back when i was asked to stop progestrone suddenly. I was very worried initially but went on fine. Many people have stopped suddenly and are going on fine. The only thing is you have to look out for any symptoms for a few days after stopping if at all you get and report it to your doc. but mostly there wont be any problem and you will be fine. go as per docs advice and dont worry.

    6teenpearls,

If you are worried on the stopping progestone suppliments.. Just reduce the mg for 2 weeks..(400 mg--> 200mg-->100mg) like that.. so that your body will get adjusted to supplements..
