    Attachment to Perishing.
    I thought of this piece when I read some tweets on X between two fellows. One of them was using abusive words for Secular Hindus.

    In his better judgment, he thinks those who do not agree with him are animals, insects and dogs. He could have carried on with discussions explaining his point without these words. Still, he was so much attached to his opinion that he desired everyone to tow his line of thinking. Since it did not happen, he got angry, got delusional, and lost his path of memory, which destroyed his power of discrimination between respect and hate.

    This is how Geeta explains it.

    CHAPTER 2

    Dhyaayato vishayaan pumsah sangas teshupajaayate;

    Sangaat sanjaayate kaamah kaamaat krodho’bhijaayate.

    62. When a man thinks of the objects, attachment to them arises; from attachment desire is born; from desire anger arises.

    Krodhaad bhavati sammohah sammohaat smriti vibhramah;

    Smritibhramshaad buddhinaasho buddhinaashaat pranashyati.

    63. From anger comes delusion; from delusion the loss of memory; from loss of memory the

    destruction of discrimination; from the destruction of discrimination he perishes.

    For such forgetfulness, he is being asked to take a back seat and let someone else fight the election against Trump. Today, at a rally, someone seems to have shot at Trump.
    On the other hand, in our Bharat the PM is calling LOP Balak Budhi and the Congress is calling the PM Bail Buddhi.

    In our school days, I used to take part in debates, sometimes for and at times against the subject. In my college days, I took part in such debates.
    Many of those debaters turned politicians and I am surprised by the language they use for opponents.

    Anger is often essential. If you m don't get angry about unsavory things happening around you you cannot be human but an inert object. Anger becomes negative when it does not lead to finding a remedy, Futile anger eats up a person.

    Anger in any form eats up a person. Remember what Gandhiji did when a white man handed him a two-page letter full of abuses attached by an alpin? He tore the letter and threw it in the dustbin but kept the alpin because that was the only useful thing with the letter.
    Similarly, when we see something unsavoury happening around us, the answer is correcting the same if possible, not getting angry and walking away.
