in patch work usually cotton matrial use. u can apply patch work in sari, dress also..

I knew some basic stiches in crochet .I have learnt them while I was in india and I got some wool from there.yesterday I went to Micheals to get crochet needle --but they are so many sizes of needles ,I am very much confused .can anyone guide in selecting the needle for learning crochet .Please explain in detail .
