    Hello Mami,
Have you given any recipes that make use of jackfruit kai which is not yet ripe? Our house owner has given me a big jackfruit and I dont know what to do with it!

Also, I would like to know if there are any recipes with kovakkai. I tried a gujrati recipe with kovakkai from the gujrati recipes thread and it was awesome. Now I want to try something else. These veggies I dont normally buy, so dont know what to do when someone else gives!

    Regards
    Nithya

    Dear Nithya,
Please go to the index on Shakambari to see jackfruit recipes. But J F can be cooked only if it is tender. Otherwise you will have to allow it to "mature" & use the fruit.
Yes, I have given kovakkai curry & K chutney.
One is perhaps in Tips on Curries & Kovakkai chutney as such in Chutneys link.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear sumanh,
In south, we do not prepare kheer with whole wheat at all - it is new to me.
I shifted your query to Micellaneous Recipes forum so that anybody who knows it may answer you.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Revathi,
All cakes which I have given in the Cakes & Bakes, can be made in the MW also. Time varies from 6-8 mts, depending on the size.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Hello ChitVish,

This dish is well known in Karnataka. They prepare in many temples..especially in the coastal karnataka region. They prepare it for the festivals too.

Therefore, I thought it might be common elsewhere too.

Anyways, thanks for shifting my query.
