    Dear Prethi,
    My recipe for aappa mavu is for paniyaram as well. Mine, please see, does not have rice etc.
    aappa mavu does not "drink" oil like idli mavu !

    Dearest Chith,

    We are participating in the Annadhanam for Lord Ayyappa Mandala Puja at the local temple. So I have volunteered to bring Sambhar. I was going thru the Sambhar/Kuzhambu Index and was wondering what will be ideal to make. I was thinking I will make something with white pumpkin (Kovilakathu sambhar). Can you suggest any other traditional Kerala sambhars. Will just araichu vitta sambhar with white pumpkin suffice? I was thinking of Brinjal channa rasavangi or paarkai pitlai.. But there are a lot of brinjal and paarkai haters including M. That is the reason I settled for white pumpkin.

    Also I need to make for 50 people, could you please help me with the amounts of tur dhal etc?

    P.S : Morkuzhambu / Mor kootan is being brought by another family. So I can take only sambhar.

    Dearest Vids,
    I suggest traditional araichu vitta sambar. Since it has dhal also, the "kaNisam" will be very good.
    Along with white pumpkin, add some 1 or 2 more vegs to make kadamba sambar.It can be a combination of drumstick & ladies' finger or carrots etc.
    Tur dhal 4-5 cups must be pressurised & corresponding ingredients for grinding masala. Make tam paste with one big orange size tamarind.

    hi chithmam,

    Surprised to see me here. well my doctor who is giving treatment for my spine, has asked me to use sago more...and you know i don't like sweets..
    i have to use it with the gel intact.so any recipes other than payasam and kanji(which i am already having with salt and curds.)...please.....

    I'm a new comer to this site :) this site is Awesome :)

    Also, I need a recipe . I dont know whats the name for it. But I have ate that when I was young :)

    it is made out of maida & soaked in sugar(or jaggery, i dont know). dried & used.
    it is not badushaa. but small biscuits made out of maida.

    I know that I'm confusing :) But I dont know how to express. I'm in need of that recipe :)
