That pretty much is the question. If you get your eyebrows threaded or waxed, are you currently happy with the service? Does she understand the shape you desire? Is she always good or is it hit and miss?

How does the average appointment go? Is it walk-in? Do you have to tell her how to thread or she knows and you just quietly sit in the chair, close one eye and raise the eyebrow? : )

During the threading, do you keep giving her instructions? Do you keep checking your face in the mirror?

After the threading, do you go close to the mirror and peer at your face or look at your phone camera in selfie mode?

    Do you tip?

My relationship with the eyebrows lady has evolved over the years. Back when I cared a lot, I used to take an appointment and work around the schedule of my favorite eyebrow lady. One time there was a substitute, I was in a hurry, leaving on a cruise next day, so used the substitute. She gave me deep threading cuts around the eyebrows that bloomed to full redness in two days just in time for the cruise's formal dinner. : ) I even took pictures and showed her after I came back.

For a while now, I have not cared. I walk in, whoever is free tells me to sit down, I try to say, Don't make it thin, only remove extra hair, but I doubt they listen. I don't even look in the mirror when done. Just pay (no tip) and go to my car. Occasionally, I will check in the mirror on the car's visor, raising my eyebrows many times. Then, I remember I have to use hand sanitizer and the moment passes.

I used to run here and there for the indian parlour. Each and every person make only thin eyebrows. I always want thick eyebrows. Every time I give instructions but all in vain. If they do thin eyebrows, then we rush to the parlour soon on seeing the slight growth. I came to the conclusion that it is their marketing technique. I have found one lady doing at her home which is nearby. But I have to make a prior appointment. Not because of too many customers, but to make sure her availability.
I hate it if they use pluckers at the end. From the day one itself I have conveyed my hatred and unbearability. That lady is using it every time saying that she is used to it for a long time. Though I want to try anybody else, I have to go far away. Nowadays even before she starts I instruct her - DON`T use plucker.
My eyebrows are naturally thick. These people made it thinner and thinner. Now it is not growing thicker. I have vented out all my concerns regarding the eyebrows through this thread.
    Thanks Rihana!

I have been going to the same Nepali lady for almost 20 years. She owns a salon and I also get haircut from her. The first time I went I took my eyebrow pencil and outlined the shape I wanted. She immediately got it and has done a great job. I always tip 25%.

I go once a year maybe 2 years to do eyebrows :tearsofjoy:. Thankfully neither my eyebrows are neither thick nor unruly. Once shaped, I think they maintain their shape for many, many months (feedback from other ladies that eyebrows don't look like they haven't been threaded for over a year).

I go to random parlors whenever I pass by it and remember its been long since I threaded. Even then, I ask her to remove only extras. It takes a couple of minutes and I'm done. Even the parlor lady is surprised when I tell her its been god-knows-how-long since I did my eyebrows last.

My relationship with eyebrow ladies have been not nicer in the past. I tried several of them, but all of them made my eyebrows look very thinner, which took several months, if not year to grow back thicker as they used to be. So, for the past decade or so, I take care of my eyebrows myself. To which, I learned threading, plucking with a tweezer, and now razor. I haven't tried waxing though.
I make pointers to the eyebrow line with a eyebrow pencil, and do the job myself whenever I needed. Often, during weekends when I do home facials, clean-ups and hair spa/masks myself. This is my me-time and it is really making me satisfied.
I also do manicure, pedicure and all. I did not learn them professionally, but self learning through you-tube helps.

I go to the parlor only for hair treatments once a month. Once in every 4 months, I do Keratin treatment too!
