    Hi,
I am looking for wooden achus to make small figures using sugar syrup... The mould will look like achu.jpg and the finished product will look like sugar_beauties.jpg They are mostly used as seer gifts. One of my friend was telling that we may get it in Mylapore... Anyone has any idea about this? Please let me know.

    Hi,
these are basically used by Karnataka people. Here in Chennai, you get these things made from many caterers. But achu, I doubt. You can try in Triplicane area, there are many Madhvas living in that area and you may get. I shall ask around, in the meantime.

    Hi,

I know they are available at B'lore. In Chennai, I think you can try asking in Triplicane, as Varloo suggests. I have asked my Athai to get me one mould from B'lore when she comes over next :). Actually, it is more famous in places like Dhavangre, Banashankari than Banglore! Do let me know when you find one in Chennai.

    Cheers
    Arch

Thanks a lot for all your suggestions... Shakambari, I will check out the shops around triplicane and will update everyone..
Cindhu, these are edible and are used as seer items during engagements.. I had seen them long back in one of my relatives function... but it seems they had ordered it through some caterer... I wanted to try them for my brother's engagement thats the reason for the frantic search :)
