April 2014 Book Club - Remember Me - Sophie Kinsella

    So here's a thought, that's be running through my head- while I was caught up with work.

    What if Eric is like an impersonation of what we are. We can deny, but what we do is constant, monotonous, sometimes mundane stuff. In a way aren't we all Erics? Ofcourse minus the "whipped up exaggeration" . And the manual, in Eric's defense, he was helping Lexi recall her memory- :crazy ( Now I'm crazy).

    It's like how our mornings are charted out- the Erics. Wake up, chores, coffee, chores, morning rush... And we yearn for a break, a vacation, when some one serves us coffee instead, a 'Jon'.
    And don't we love the Jons, I mean, a vacation :mrgreen:.

    P.S: I feel like a Litt student doing a character study for an assignment. And I can't believe I'm posting it.:bonk

    Finally completed the book. Chicklit is not my favourite genere of books and this was my first book written by Sophie Kinsella. Although I have seen her books in my library.

    I did enjoy this book - light, funny, well written and the pace of the book was good. It didnt drag or get boring.

    But I found Lexi to be very self-absorbed and selfish.

    She wanted to grow in the company and become rich so she ditched her friends and was rude to them. Later on she wants them back so she offers gifts and muffins and expects them to forget everything.

    I dont think throwing money around is going to get you friends or make them forget all the rude and bad things one has done.

    I also dont think it is necersary to be rude to your friends just becoz you are working in the same company and become their manager one day.

    I liked her sister Amy in the book (she was fun!)

    In the end I would have liked to see her getting her memory back and then go to Jon.

    Hope I havent spoilt the book for anyone still reading the same.

    Woah!! that was deep Priya!!! I never did think of the story in that angle!! you are a literary student aren't you?? Character analysis on the book was pretty awesome.. :)

    I think the author is trying to show how irrational people can sometime be when angry. Lexi was feeling humiliated and angry at her father's funeral.



    Science major, but if its any consolation, did take Advanced English in High school.
