application forms for school admissions 2011-2012

    Hi friends,

    I was planning to come back to India for my sons 1st std for the academic year 2011-2012 now that there is some issue going on i will not be able to come. my question is i heard all CBSE school starts language from 1st grade. if i bring my son in second grade will he be able to manage with language. he might take tamil/hindi. pl let me know. is there any books that i can buy to teach him 1st grade tamil/hindi.

    My elder daughter is in UKG in Chettinad vidyalaya - she has the 2nd language (Hindi for her) classes in UKG itself and by now-end of 2nd term she has completed writing all the alphabets/including ka/kha series.

    Chettinad Vidyashram - Admission Tests

    Hi,

    I heard that the admission tests for Chettinad Vidyashram is likely to happen in the 2nd or 3rd week of Feb 2011.

    I would appreciate if someone could confirm the same.

    I would need to get the tickets arranged quickly if the admission test dates are known.

    I also heard that the application forms are likely to be available on the 3rd Jan (tomorrow).

    Appreciate if folks in Chennai could keep us informed about this.

    I am also applying in Chettinad for my children and have the info that applications will be given after Pongal only. For which class are you seeking admission for? I dont think there will be admission tests in February as other children (NRIs and those outside Chennai) will have classes . I think the applications will be given in early march and tests if any will happen by april.

    Hi,

    I understand that there is a shift in dates starting next year. THe school starts in April for a week or two and closes down for the whole of May and early June.

    So i am expecting the exams to be held prior to April.

    Again all of these information is hear-say. I haven't heard any first hand information so far in this space.

    I will keep you folks posted once i hear first hand information.

    Hi,

    I can confirm that the application forms are now available. One of my friends have picked up a form for my kids.

    The admission test dates are not known at the moment.

    I will keep everyone posted once i hear on the admission test dates
