    hi all,
I am thinking of starting to stitch a top or a blouse or something as a form of distraction, trying to have a hobby. Anyone started at this late an age and has done something? PLease let me know the easiest thing to start with?

I sewed a cushion cover for my round sofa cushions with my old worn out chunni. Its not neatly finished, but serves the purpose. I needed something static to sit on the cushions and not directly use a pillow cover. I used a naada on the downside , so I can just tie it on the bottom. Its ok.
What else can I do before I take out my new dress material and start off on it?

well.. i started much late in my life ......there is no age for hobby. Only that sewing is not an easy or cheaper hobby, contrary to what people think ( people think if a person knows sewing, they start calculations immediately...) consumes lot of time and money and its solitary skill, and results are never professional for an apparel , unless you have many garments down.

yea, it is definitely not cheap. Just the basic sewing machine costs almost 4k. Knitting sweaters must be cheaper to start off. wool, needles etc. But we cant start off without sewing machine iself.

Singer Start 1304 sewing machine is about $80. Still expensive, but not in thousands
