Anyone sending their kid to UCMAS Abacus class?

Hello,

Anyone is sending their kid to Abacus classes? If so how good is the teaching standard and is it helping the kid? Also if you can let me know the cost as well appreciate it.

I Aam a teacher for abacus mathematics in a similar company as ucmas.. mine is aloha. the kids really benifit from these courses. they increase their speed and calculation power. it helps them to compete well. they become confident. Rest depend son the teacher how she / he puts all the tricks in the kids mind!!

Oh thatz great. My son is 4.5 yr old now... is it the right age to start the Abacus for him? I would like to know more about the teaching methodology used as well... if you can PM me the details that will be great.

4 and above is the right age. teaching method followed by us are 3
1~ abacus
2~ fingering ( we teach them to count upto 99 on 10 fingers)
3~ visualisation( in this method they visualise the abacus and calculate in their mind)

cost is around 2500 per level.. 10 such levels are to be done. one time registration fees around 1000 to be paid while admission. each level take 3 months
