Recently with my vaginal ultrasound scan, I got to know that I have cyst on the left ovary. Don't know if it gets resolved or reduce on its own. This scan was taken in March in India and doctor ( not obgyn though)said I can wait and watch.

I am yet to see the gyno Dr here to discuss the issue and get a new scan. Waiting for the appointment .

    This is the scan result:
    Uterus
Measures 6.5x5.8x3.6 cm and shows normal endometrial and myometrial echoes.
    EMT -6.4mm
    Right ovary measures 2.9x2.3cm
Left ovary measures 6.8x3.3 cm. A unilocular cyst measuring 5.5*3.3 cm is noted in the Left ovary.
    No evidence of solid component/vascularity.

Does this look abnormal? Do I need to look into surgery? Any other non surgical treatment helps this?

My tummy is very big and feels very heavy. I look like 8 months pregnant and have a big belly. I noticed this change in the belly 3-4 weeks ago.
I am worried if my cyst has increased bigger compared to the scan 5 months ago, as my belly is very big.
Does anyone have had cyst? How did you treat yours?
Do I need to ask for immediate surgery? Or does it reduce on its own?
    Any thoughts anyone.

    Hi
It's best you visit a doc at the earliest and have it medically examined. If you have any discomfort /pain etc you need to visit Emergency or GP without delay.

There are various types of cysts and even the position of the cysts inside ovaries matters. it's better to be consulted by a doctor.

Yes I am going to see the doctor. Waiting for appointment. Meanwhile I was checking here for personal experiences.
I don't know the type of the cyst. The doctor who reviewed it in India didn't say any name and just told me to wait and watch.

It's been 5 months after the scan and my tummy looks big now. So i am seeing a new gynecologist here in the US.
Have you had any cyst before?

I heard that if I leave the cyst as such, it will rupture. I am not seeing my GP as she moved out of state and I am searching for a new GP.

    Hi

Yes... during my pregnancy 4th month scan check up ..there was an Ovarian Cyst ( greater than 2.5 cm) detected. Sonographer suspected it could be malignant because of the mass . But doctor felt it would be benign (based on the position). So both had a big discussion and we were told nothing can be done until the delivery and to come incase if there is any pain or bleeding during the pregnancy.
Post pregnancy the cyst had shrunk itself in size but still there. So i have to do yearly check ups without fail.
During the period we had spoken to other medio people and hence telling its best to consult the doctor. Even they would run all the tests/scans to tell you more about it.

Yes I am going to consult the doctor. I said I am waiting for my new patient appointment.

I had the scan in India 5 months ago and doctor there said I can wait and watch..but I want to recheck it. So I am seeing the Dr here in the US. I will ask for a new scan too. Because my tummy is big, so I suspect it would have grown much bigger than before.

I am seeing the doctor this week and I will ask for new scan and tests for these. Mine is around 5cm, so I have to ask about surgical removal too.

Thank you!! I did see the doctor yesterday and she didn't say much. It was a quick visit though. She said I can repeat the scan and see if the cyst is still present. She said it's a simple cyst, sometimes it goes away or move sides. So I have booked an appointment for the ultrasound.

Thank you sir. I will check it out.
I did see the gynecologist and she said to repeat the scan now to see if cyst grown bigger or shrunk.
My current symptoms are, stomach feeling full , bloated , heavy and big. Burning sensation on the upper abdomen. So she said cyst most likely won't cause these and told me to see the physician for this. I saw my physician and he ordered few blood work and CT scan of abdomen for me.
I have to do all those to get an answer. Meanwhile he prescribed me antacid to help with stomach discomfort.
