ANYONE DOING CPA(cetified public accountant)

hi everyone,
I came to usa a year back
instead of sitting ideal at home thought of starting studing..
I hav a commerce background n done my masters in commerce
plus i hav also cleared a national eligibility exam for lecturership in commerce and hav got many academic certificates at university level.
After going through various options available and seeing the circumstance. thought of doing cpa
Is there nyone who is doing cpa or who can provide me with the necessary information regarding cpa like

1. the procedure to start cpa
2. institution from i can take coaching
3. the books to refer

Although i hav searched many sites for this, i wanted help from u ladies..
I hav already sent my transcripts for evaluation and wanted to know can they give me any pre-requistes as there is a gap of 4 years since i left my studies..
