    Hi Ilites,

    I´m Perisuing my Master´s in Bioinformatics,I want to know what skills do we need to get job in to it..Is it better to go for job? or do ph.d?

    It depends on your interest. Masters is enough if you have done a project and have thesis (+/- publications). After Masters it is easy to get into a biotech company and earn money - settle in life. There are jobs available in Academia for Masters. But if you really are interested in studies and have patience, then you can do a Ph.D. After Ph.D you either can go to a faculty position (based on your publications and recommendations from supervisors) or get a higher position in biotech company. Also, Ph.D takes 4-5 years. If you are married and started a family that is fine. Otherwise, you have to postpone few things and everything depends on your supervisor and your research topic.

    Finally, you have to make a choice whether to get into a job and have a family life or get Ph.D but sacrifice (may not be the case sometimes) few things.
