Like the Delhi case this Mumbai case has become fodder for the hungry media . People are asking what she was doing in ruins of a mill , what was she wearing etc. Until and unless there is death penalty this will go on, but the human activists will jump in and demand that the criminal should be reformed and let lose on the streets. Asaram the self proclaimed Godman is also involved in a rape case and the alleged victim is 16 years old. Media covers cases which raise TRPs , they discuss only educated , young victims of large cities. After a few days they will move on to some other news. Right now there is a media war going on between the political parties trying to prove which state has more rape cases, the same panelists are appearing on most TV channels. Sickening.

Rakhii India was never safe for women.Atleast these days these cases get reported. How can one forget what happened to the female journalists in "Ayodhya". Delhi rape case,Manipal rape case...its saddening. When such cases get reported i just read their headlines because i cant read beyond those lines.So imagine the plight of these rape victims. Like flowerlady said...only a death penalty to the rapists will ensure justice.
Flower Lady - totally with you on that. Our sympathies get aroused only when rape occurs in big cities such as Mumbai and Delhi or any of the metros? Where was Mr. Thackeray's sympathy when his croonies went to a seemingly innocent Valentine's Day party celebration and roughed up women, in the name of protecting the sanctity of Indian culture!
Worse than this A POLICE LADY CONSTABLE was raped in Jharkhand,dragged out of her house & raped in front of her family-Criminals are not stoppping anywhere-who is next-minister/banker?????

It does not stop there,Arch.What about those small children (dalit girls) who are still forcibly made to "serve" the priests in certain northern states?Can you imagine there are kids as small as 2 year old?When we were discussing this , one of our female collegue had the audacity to say that serving those a*****s is next to serving god and hence it is not counted as rape.Felt like slapping her.There are women who instigate such men.That is even more sad.Rape was used as a tool of revenge in olden days and women helping out such men. As a society we are selfish and inhuman.When it happens to someone outside,we do not feel much.We do not act unless it happens to us or someone dearer.And then comes politics in all these .We are just doomed.Nobody can save us unless we start behaving like humans.
