    Hi Ilites,

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="97%" align=center border=0><TD class=style2>Warangal (PTI): Pulluri Shashank, the 22-year-old Andhra student shot at outside his apartment in Tennesse, is stated to be "out of danger" after undergoing two surgeries even as state officials assured help to the family to facilitate their travel to the US.

Shashank, an MBA student at University of Middle Tennessee in southern US, received bullet injuries in stomach and chest after he was fired at by an Afro-American but is now out of danger, his father Pulluri Sudhakar said.
He said two surgeries were performed on his son and he was being kept under observation.

Sudhakar, who does not have a passport, said he had approached authorities for help after which they assured him that he will get the travel documents by tomorrow morning.

A top state official has offered to write to the External Affairs Ministry to press for speedy issuance of visa for the family so that it can meet Shahsank at the earliest, said Sudhakar who is an officer in the state cooperatives department.

Shashank's mother Arundhati is a teacher and his younger sister is an undergraduate student of BCA.

Shashank is the sixth Indian student of Andhra Pradesh origin to be attacked in the US in the last one year.
In the previous attacks, all the five victims have died.
The incident occurred when Shashank and his friends were entering their flat after returning from an outing.

Shahsnk did his BE course from a private engineering college at Huzurabad in Warangal district and went to US 18 months back, said Sudhakar.
The incident came just a fortnight after the murder of Arpana Jinaga, a Hyderabadi software professional at Redmont, Washington D.C.
