I noticed my friend's skin was looking better each time I met her so I asked her what was the secret behind her beautiful glowing skin, she said just two words its Natural and no chemical. I was surprised to hear that, given the way we are so dependent on beauty products which have harsh chemicals which we use day in and day out. She also recommended me a salon called Blossom Beauty Salon. I went through their facebook page and without much ado, I decided to give it a try since my friend recommended it. I planned to get a facial from this beauty bar.

As soon as I entered the salon I was pleasantly surprised by the serene ambience, it looked like a nice high end spa with the detailed woodwork and artistic interiors. I was greeted by a sweet lady called Mala who confirmed my appointment. It was 6pm yet she looked fresh and energetic that gave me a good vibe.

She offered me coffee and went inside to set the room, I sipped my coffee admiring the place it smelled great too. The strong pungent room fresheners give me a head ache but this place was different, the smell was subtle and pleasant. I had a rough day and all I needed was a relaxing facial but I also dreaded the thought I shouldn't regret it.

She called me in and gave me disposable dress to change and then asked me to dip my hands slowly in a container and guess what was in the container, it was some kind of paraffin wax. The wax slowly cooled on my hands and she then put on mitten ( heating gloves) and explained me this process would relax my muscles from fingers till my shoulders. I then laid in her soft bed which had all disposable sheets on the top, as I looked around I saw all two UV sterilized machines from one she took out fresh towels and from another facial brushes. Yes hygiene is the most important thing when you visit hospitals and salons.

Mala then asked me few questions regarding my skin type, allergies if i have any etc and then took a closer look at my skin. She then suggested a Diamond Facial for me but also said I was free to choose any other if I wished, but as they say doctors and Esthetician know whats best so I went with her advice.

She then started explaining to me all the herbal scrubs, and chemical face packs that she is going to use along with the other details about the product and the procedure itself. I have an extremely sensitive skin and I often avoid getting any facials because I am scared it might lead to more break outs. She then asked me my choice of music, I picked waterfall. With the controlled dim lights and the music I felt relaxed but that was just the start. She then started the facial and all I remember is listening to music and the soothing massage.

To my surprise she even had the ultra sonic machine which she used for around ten minutes on my face I wanted to ask her if there was additional charges for it but I was too busy enjoying it. After exactly 75 minutes the facial was done and my final pack was wiped off with the hot towel. I felt rejuvenated and was feeling lighter as if I lost some weight. She switched off the machine and removed the wax from my hands and I cant tell you how great it felt.

I looked at the mirror for a long time smiling at myself and then when I went to counter I thanked her a couple of times as I really enjoyed the experience. As I was about to pay her I asked her if I had to pay extra for the ultra sonic machine she smiled and said no its included. That was a cherry on the cake. It always feels good to get exceptional great service for an affordable price. I appreciated her service and after a short talk I learnt she was Mala Veeraraghavan, the owner of the salon. Now my curious nature and her pleasing personality got us talking and I will share her story in next blog so stay tuned to know about Mala's wonderful journey !
