At times I am an anxious child,
counting fears like stars at night,
    holding my breath for comfort,
    searching faces for a sign
    that everything will be alright.
Other times I am an angry teenager,
    words sharp, doors slammed shut,
    questioning the world loudly,
    demanding answers,
refusing to bend, refusing to hush.

Sometimes I am a matured soul,
    quiet, understanding pauses,
    choosing silence over storms,
    learning when to let go,
    and when to simply breathe.
    And all other times,
I am a kiddish heart waiting to explode—
laughing too loudly, loving too deeply,
    finding magic in small things,
tripping over joy like it’s brand new.
    I am not confused,
    I am layered.

A timeline walking in one body,
    holding every version gently,
    learning that growing up
doesn’t mean leaving any of them behind.

Fantabulous @nandinimithun! As long as we can bring ourselves back to that kiddish heart, all is well I feel. Beautifully written. Growing up doesn't mean leaving other phases behind - you are right about that!

Lovely. Going back to childhood is guaranteed, but it depends.
