As you want to know about auspisious festival Karvachauth.
It is very famous vrat in North India.
This will be my third vrat.You have to follow all the rules of fasting which you have done in first year.
Karvachauth vrat is usually done after marriage.
Basically the whole-sole purpose of this holy vrat is for Husband's long life.

Hi all,

First of all Thanks to all of your info.
I was not knowing about Sargi.
I usually wake up in the morning and after bath perform regular pooja.
Karva Chauth plays important role in the evening.I eat nothing not a single drop of wateer.
In the evening I cook Halwa,poori,Kheer and either aaloo ki sabji or chhole.
After taking shower I perform pooja and decorate pooja's thali.
Then when my husband comes from office I do his pooja.
After seeing moon my husband offers me water and food.
This is how I celebrate Karva Chauth.

hello ladies,
i want to know how do we do the pooja in the evening.I mean instead of listening to it can i read it on my own and also wat al do i ned to do along with that while reading the katha?
plz guide.

what all do we put in the thali?

when do we make the diva what do we do with it afterwards?

do we put our finger through some rice while listening to the katha (asked this one before as well), if so what do we do with the rice afterwards?

i know that when we break the fast we have to see the moon, what are the exact procedure for this. From what i know is this correct.

prey to moon, give water, then observe the moon from a sieve then the husband. then the husband gives you water!

when breaking the fast when you eat can you eat anything or is it the fehniya you break it with. and also when you start the fast is that what you eat last?

Can a person eat before sunrise or is it something like at the stroke of midnight you stop consuming everything??

DH is working that evening, so he will not be home at moonrise, actually he will be home close to midnight, and I am planning to go to the temple, so I can break my fast?

Any yummy recipies that I can prepare in advance, something simple?

I think so, or maybe you can go to the temple. I'll be on my own as well, so either I read it myself or I go to the temple.

Hi all,

Its great to hear that all of you observe Karwa Chauth Vrat.
Even my husband has go-live on Karwa-Chauth.Probably he has to work whole night that day.
I am totally confused what to do.

hie .. i have just registered in this site. . can any1 please tel me when is karva chauth wrath ... is it on 17th or 18th .. as i stay in dubai ... and m single ... and i really want to keep it for my love .. please tel me is it okay for single to keep .. as i hve heard we can keep too... just tel me please .. would be really greatfull...
