I am checking Air Fryer in the markets and eyeing on Ninja Air fryer which is expensive than many other. I see that most have really light plastic body, and infact there is not much insulation between inside basket( which gets super heated) and outer plastic. Even handles are super cheap plastic. somewhere inside also it looks plastic might be seeping into food. Then silicone is used inside though i know it is heat resistant, better than plastic and i have many spatulas of silicone, it still feels plastic-like to me and can get burnt over time. I feel 150$ is still big investment to eat plastic and inhale fumes. What are you thoughts?
I usually check out Wirecutter when contemplating appliance or other household purchases. They have listed their top 3 2022 recommendations for air fryers at 3 different price points, if you want to compare.
@sanjuruby3, consider buying a combo air fryer and countertop oven. Costco has several. I share your concerns and don't use my air fryer at all. I prefer to use my convection toaster oven instead. .
So I bought Ninja Airfryer loved it till now.. just 1 month use and i see scratches on the plate.. not sure if i did smthing wrong. I did use metal in between to pick things but it was not hot, so should not cause scratching. Atleast should stay 6mo before show wear tear. I can buy new plate but thats easy 30-40 bucks including shipping. I am considering returning it and go for other brand or combo but then space problems.
Oil the surface to avoid sticking with brush Make sure you soak and wash with sponge to clean the leftovers Only use utensils meant for non stick Non stick surface needs proper care If you see scratches that soon either you received a defective product or you are not following the instructions .
