    For those who says age is only a number

    Age is not a number,
    It's really an encumber,

    Those who say it's only a number,
    Do make a big blunder!

    It has it's own peril,
    Lock stock and barrel!

    It's the season of fall,
    Crumbling on the ground spall !

    Memory at it's loss,
    Hearing at its base!

    Vision at its low,
    Motoring very slow!

    In spite of all the malady,
    If a person can be gaily,

    I salute them and agree,
    For them Age is only a number!

    A poem almost on sanity, senility for seventies plus!
    A poem created in right time befitting the ages!
    Head to foot everything ages visibly
    That can’t be Number just!

    Good one! Yes, its not so black and white for sure. AGe is definitely not just a number for people experiencing the pains whether physical or mental associated with it. Neither is it everything dreadful. Just like any stage in life, I personally feel aging well and consciously, is nothing to be feared and we can very well count our blessings and lead a good life by proper care where needed.

    :hello:This reminds me the book I read some three or four decades ago which had quite a raving reviews. The beneficiaries praise his methods of TM that includes persons from terminally ill.
    The title is AGELESS BODY TIMELESS MIND
    Book by Deepak Chopra.

    I am thankful to Lord Almighty for giving me the mental and physical strength to carry on my daily activities. There are people younger than me who have become dependent on others.

    Nice to see you here Pushpavalli Srinivasan after a long time, I have not been regular to visit too. Well when everything goes right, maintaining decent health mentally and physically it can be said that 'age is a number'..but when with a renewed enthusiasm when we start to do something like good old days, both body and mind reminds us that they are always going downhill. Like joylokhi has said, we need to count the blessings and just carry one. While previously it was doing something or the other now it is maintaining the faculties for the same.
