Age criteria for admission to LKG in Chennai Schools

I need some information.at present my husband working in malaysia.My daughter Date Of Birth 09-07-2007.Which year is suitable for my baby to join Prekg.please anyone help me about this.

Hi,

Most of the schools in chennai expects a child to complete 2.5 years before they start their pre-kg.The exact cut off dates differs from one school to another.If you browse thro' IL threads you may collect lot of relavant info.

I had learnt from two schools in the suburbs that this year the cut off for lkg is 3.6 years in june. and the schools refused to give application for kg if the child was not satisfying the age criteria..

I had been to st.britto's last week and also there the school refused application unless the child would be 3.6..looks like the board is little serious about the age criteria this year..

 

Shanvy Are you saying it for 2009 or 2010?Which schools are you saying?

This was for the admission in 2009. St.brittos refused application form for kg for a boy who was 3. and has agreed for prekg.

Heard a private playschool in south chennai says 2.6years for pre-kg.

and have also heard from one of my friends, that ncert is looking into the books load, age criteria and all this year. and also there is talk that they want to remove exams till 8th (which would look foolishness to me..)

My daughter is born on Jan 1st,2007. I hear that Dec 31st 2009, she should complete her 3 yrs to get LKG, but unfortunately she looses that due to one day. Incase if i need to wait for Dec 31st, 2010 wont she be too big for LKG? Please advise...

my daughter's date of birth is 19-2-2011. When will i join her in pre-kg and Lkg in chennai?? we want to join her in DAV or Chinmaya in Annanagar. what is the proceedure??
