My friend who is a spinster in her early 40s wants to adopt a baby girl or boy, preferably baby girl. She has a respectable central govt job. Can anyone tell me how to go about it in Delhi? What is the procedure and whom to contact? Is it possible for unmarried spinsters to adopt a baby legally? My friend did contact an orphanage but they sent her back saying unmarried spinsters are not eligible? Yet Susmita Sen has adopted two baby girls-- any guidance will be of great help!
