Hi Induslady,

I have one suggestion to improve the IL experience

If someone want to reply back/wants specific attention from a member, a twitter syle tagging @memberName will be helpful. When someone adds @memberName to their posts, a notification will be sent to the "memberName". We can see this in twitter and facebook. When someone mention us in their post, we will be notified (notification in the top IL bar with/without e-mail notification)
I can see how this will be beneficial in the following scenarios:

a)When a someone needs a specific attention from a particular member, instead of creating a new thread with that member's name( I have seen many threads like that), they can use these type of tagging. Also the other person will be notified that someone needs their attention when they logged into IL.

b)When someone replies to a thread which we posted long time back, they can use these tagging to let us know that they have replied to this particular post. This will be helpful for both the parties. We will get to know that someone has replied to an old forgotten post of ours.

c) When we reply to some posts of the other members other than OP, we can use these tagging to bring the attention of other poster. Usually OP checks the thread frequently, not the other posters. Currently there is no way we can let others know we have posted/asked something to them.

Very nice idea.

We have a tool where we can subscribe to a thread and any time new posts get added to that thread, we can get email notification.

But notification to specific poster in the thread is a good idea. Will be very helpful.

I was thinking about the same for long time.. That we can have a facebook kind of tagging with the username so that we get updates to older post of ours or some replies to our post in a common thread.. Thanks for bringing this up.. Hope admin accepts this to be impplemented.. All of us will be benefitted..
