]My NRI friend who lived in U.S. for after marriage has moved back to India last year..her mobile number which she was using many years ago in India was deactivated , as she was not using it for a long time..now she is temporarily using a SIM which is in her fathers name, he had the extra SIM so he gave her to use.. She has her own house in India, she has recently shifted with her husband to the new house, got address proofs like sale deed, gas bill, landline phone bill , bank passbook etc. Also got Adhar card done successfully last year. Now she wants to apply for a new SIM card in her name , she approached the network service provider of her choice and applied for new SIM card. They took her ID proofs, address proofs, Aadhar etc. But when they asked her to press fingerprint in scanner to authenticate the biometrics, her authentication failed. She has tried with all fingers but still no luck. They refused to issue new SIM card to her. She went to a nearby Aadhar enrolment centre, submitted all her biometrics again and updated other info also. After giving 2 weeks time again went to the store to apply for new SIM card.. Once again- they asked her to press finger so they can get her Aadhar details from her biometric data..again it dint recognise the fingerprint..it's showing authentication failed and they refused to give her new SIM card..she asked one more network provider they also said they follow same procedure.. She looked in UIDAI and checked if biometric is locked, it's not locked. Now she is stuck..she can't even get a new mobile connection for herself in her name, just because there is some mistake somewhere. I want to know if anyone else has faced this issue? In her acknowledgement form it's mentioned that her fingerprints are of poor quality. What can she do now? Pls reply, she is my close friend, really want to help her.
So many views and no replies. I expected some response atleast. Can anyone please reply if they have info...I don't have awareness on this and my friend also doesn't have that's y I posted here.
Hi, she might have to go to the UIDAI.gov.in website and verify her Aadhaar number. https://resident.uidai.gov.in/aadhaarverification this has to be done.. Hopefully this will work Cheers
Helpline number is always busy, very difficult to get connected to any operator..I myself tried recently as I had a query, made many attempts at calling and then hung up.
i have called for my fil’s adhaar card issue but when got through they were very helpful. so try again is the only suggestion
