An old man was walking at night in complete darkness, holding a lit torch in his hand. A young man walking toward him accidentally bumped into him. Immediately, the young man scolded, “Hey! Are you blind? Can’t you see?” The old man calmly replied, “Yes, son, I am blind.” The young man, now frustrated, said in a stern voice, “Oh, okay… go ahead.” The old man called out, “Hey, young man, come here. I know I cannot see, and that is exactly why I carry this light — for you to see. You’re not blind, right? Can’t you see the light?” This simple encounter reminds me of Matthew 5:16 (NIV): “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Even if we face limitations or darkness ourselves, the light we carry can guide others. What I want to say with this story is: You don’t have to be perfect or all-seeing to make a difference. Even in your struggles, the light you carry — your wisdom, kindness, or guidance — can illuminate the path for someone else.
This post is nice. When I illuminate others find their cozy path to attain their goal. It also reminds me of general prayer in sanskrit Om Asato Maa Sadgamaya, Tamaso Maa Jyotirgamaya, Mrityorma Amritam Gamaya. By extension it means knowledge shared is of some use to some one in practical ways . But if knowledge is just retained not using not sharing is of no use to any one. Lighted torch is a metaphor for dissemination of useful knowledge to the needy. If wind circulates it is breezy for every one. If it is blocked it could turn stale. My two cents. Regards God Bless .
