I strongly feel that along with the maid, the agency should also be punished and cancel his licence to run such a biz. He knows that working parents who has no one to look after the child but entirely they trust and leave their children under the care and concern of the so called caretakers . So how can they send any maid without knowing about their back ground fully causing this type of trauma to the poor child as well as the tension to the parents .

    Better safe than sorry.

Despite of various issues, I still prefer to keep my kids with the supervison and care of my mom. There is a maid, but she can't do much when mom is around. That's the only reason I can breath normal now a days.

I heard from my friends and colleagues about various issues as such.

There was a maid, who gave baby cologne to the baby daily to make her asleep, so that she can have a nice time chatting with someone
Another maid gave priton syrup to the baby for the same purpose
The babies were all the time drowsy, and not eating properly. After a series of medical check up only, the doctors diagnosed their issues

Another maid had put the kid in the bath tub, and went to answer a call from her family. The kid died in it
Another maid was careless while feeding a baby, so she died. But this maid made up a drama as if the kid has high fever, and made her sleep in the bed. Once the parents reached, they found the dead body of their baby, but later only it got revealed that the baby never had a fever as such.

Maids beating the kids, carelessness, shouting with abusive languages, and warning them not to tell this to parents, threaten them with death... All happens here.

Very sad to hear all these things. Parents should think twice before engaging caretakers for their kids esp infants

Reminds me of an incident around five years back. My senior had kept a maid for her one and half year old daughter and the child would seem to be always sleeping , since both the parents were very busy doctors , they never paid much attention. But when the maid went for leave for few days, the daughter would cry and say I want to drink juice, later they came to know the maid would give cough syrup to the baby due to which the baby became drowsy and later she confessed to have opium also! It was so sad and heart breaking. The kid had become addicted.
There are many instances of sexual abuse besides the physical torture.many will eat the food themselves and not serve to kid. But sadly there are not enough laws to tackle this. Mostly they get away easily.
