Dear Seena Good Article posted. Persons like Kareem needs to be saluted for his social-responsibility and for all the effort he has taken to give life to the barren land ! In the days where greeneries are destroyed for sake of buildings ! the deed of persons like kareem is highly commendable. Love, Preethi
Thank you Preethi, for your message! Now a days, most of the people are not interested of such topics. We all find it difficult even to grow a garden around our own home. So Kareem's efforts must be specified as a great deed. He has won many awards from the Govt. side. Now his place has been an attraction for tourists! I really wished to have a life as he lives, live in the lap of mother nature by attaining all her love!
Dear Seetha lakshmi Amma, So nice to hear from you. Now a days Sarppakkavu is not seen any where. No one tries to preserve the trees but cut all for some purpose. Is there a kaavu in your tharavadu veedu?
very spellbound Dear Seena, I read with awe what you sent about private forest. The water level seemed to have risen because of the plants?the post was very informative. Thank you Regards, Meenu
Dear Meenu, Yes, water level has risen because of the trees. You know , many families in that area now depends the well in the forest. I had seen a show in Asianet about this two years back. Well, happy to know that you liked Kareem's forest.
Dear Seena ! I seem to have missed this post all these days! The gut feelng in the man has really taken Viswarupam ! We do not have the courage to listen to our inner call, often ! That is what has changed Kareem's life. Thanks for the informative post. Love & regards, Chithra.
Nature's teachings.. Thanks Chithra for the reply. We have to learn a lot from this man. Cleaning land by removing dried parts of plants, ploughing the earth and adding the chemical fertilizers is a usual seen in Kerala. No body thinks how plants grow well in a forest without any body’s care... That is the only theory Kareem followed here.
Kavu Dear Seena, Kavu was there in olden days. Nowadays even the kavu changes names and are kept swept and cleaned daily. In our father's place at kollam, we had one. Now it is not there, that had been taken by the locals and has been turned into a devi kshethram. My husband's family had a kavu there and even that has taken the name of aiyappa shrine. So all are scared to maintain a kavu, not like olden days. It was a nice article Seena, Latha
