    Hi All!
Yesterday was a great day. We got up leisurely as it was a holiday. Had bath and light breakfast and headed towards orphanage. We had taken two big cakes and a few goodies for the kids there. We reached there on scheduled time. All the kids were brought to the courtyard and then we arranged the table, cut cake, distributed food, sweets, and goodies among kids, played a few games and then took leave with a promise to return and spend some good time with them again.
From there we went to the “Golden Pagoda”. It’s a Buddhist Place of worship. There are two ways to reach there: One is by road and another by jetty. We prefer the latter one. We reached there, had a nice peep into the meditation area, Ashoka Stambha and roamed about here and there for some time. Went to the exhibition, watched a documentary on how this Pagoda came into being.
It’s a very beautiful place and very peaceful too. They say, on the top- central tile of the pagoda, Lord Buddha’s ashes are kept. It’s a huge dome and they say that there is no supporting structure inside; like any wires running through or whatever. All the bricks are just joined together to make this dome. It does sound unbelievable but yes we got to trust them as it’s not only a place of tourist attraction but a place of worship and meditation. And I believe, at a place as holy as this, nobody would dare to tell a lie. Friends believe me, it’s worth visiting that place. The place has a different kinda vibes all over. You really feel good to be there. On top of the Pagoda, there are many small bells, which tinkle with the breeze. The sound is so serene that love to hear that sweet, tranquilizing sound. That also creates holy vibes out there.
Then around 2.30 we took a boat back to our beach and reached home by 4.30 pm. It was indeed a memorable day for all of us. Friends, if you are from Mumbai, do make it a point to visit this place at least once and for those who are not from Mumbai, please don’t forget this place if you are visiting Mumbai.
Hope you all also had a great day!
