Dont worry much. Crawling is not a compulsory milestone. My neice never crawled but now she can stand up. Shes 10 months old. If he is not crawling or creeping, he must have some other way of moving around.. Doesnt he?

    no worries.

my son crawled at 10.5 months after he saw another kid doing it. till then he was content to sit in 1 place or just roll to whereever he wanted to go.

and he walked at 12 months!

Dont worry. My daughter never crawled. She didnot even rollover.
When she was 10 months old I bought her a walker. It is not the usual one which has 3 wheels but its a round walker(Its a brand from India) where the baby can sit and can try stand and move the walker along as she tries to stand. Its not a very sturdy one but quite flimsy(made with metal) but thats what worked for my daughter..It is available in all regular supermarkets.I secured the metal ends that were sharp with some bubble wrap and used it .
the u.s brand stroller and excesaucer did not work for my daughter.

Don't worry Nilu, babies have their own developmental blueprints, and each babies works with her own calendar. Are you leaving her on the floor (without holding her)? Babies who are held constantly usually show a slight delay in mobility, but they catch up with their peers pretty soon.

Someone had mentioned using a walker to hasten walking. Actually the term "walker" is a misnomer. Research shows that children who are placed in walkers often start walking later than children who've never been in a walker. The main reason for this is that babies in walkers do not get any visual feedback on where they are going, since they are often unable to see their feet. Babies need a lot of visual as well as tactile feedback--you've probably noticed that babies who just start crawling tend to look at the floor--even early walkers do that. Using a walker thus doesnt give them that feedback....
