Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.” – Unknown Each ones taste in life is different. In my office I had a colleague who always used to say its not my cup of tea. She was married to a business man and she was living a happy life. Surprisingly though I was from a middle class family we became very good friends. We had gone out together and she always treated me very nicely. Once I had gone to her house during lunch time to teach her how to make mysore pak. For some cooking delicious food and keeping the family happy and keeping the house clean is their taste. For some besides cooking they spend their time reading spiritual books and chanting prayers. I admire them how they spend so many hours in that. It really requires lot of patience to spend so much time and concentrate on reading and chanting. For me I have taste in cooking, trying out different dishes, sometimes they turn out well and sometimes not so well, but my poor dh appreciates when it is superb and does not say anything if it is not so proper. Earlier I used to be interested in keeping the house clean and arranging everything in order and kept in proper places but with age I am not able to so perfect in it. I like watching TV, going out I like it very much , wherever there is enjoyment I am there. Before marriage I was very much interested in reading books and used to run a library of tamil magazines while I was working. We had many tamilians in our office so I used to distribute books to them during lunch time. My dh was also interested in reading so we used to buy many magazines. But after sixty I had no patience in reading books. My passtime was watching TV while at home when I was free. After I registered in this site, everyone knows that logging in here is my interest and have got addicted to it. “We spend money that we do not have, on things we do not need, to impress people who do not care.” (possibly a quote by Will Rogers) We always do things thinking what others will think of us. Most people are concerned about themselves We will have true freedom if we live life where we dont think what others will think of us. We should do things which makes us happy . We should be happy to take the opinion of people who know everything about us and still like us. Today from morning it was very boring for me as there was not net and I could spend time in IL . Being Saturday no serials, there was a movie which I watched and it was little different also. So till 1 pm. somehow I spent my time, then had my lunch , did not feel like reading anything. So went to sleep. Evening again no net. Was more bored because I could not chat with my daughter too, luckily she phoned so sometime passed. Then went to bring medicines. Now for a week I will be boring you all with my snippets. Next Saturday I will be operated for Cataract. Dont know how I am going to spend my time without cooking, without Computer, without TV. I think God has given me an opportunity to do Nam Japam, hope I will do that and seek His blessings and hope soon I will be able to come back with good vision. I think God thought that at this age I should spend my time spiritually too thats why I have to go through this operation. “It’s only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had.” – Elisabeth Kubler-Ross .
