திருப்பதியில் பணம் தந்துத் திருப்தியாய் தரிசனம் !
தெருக்கோடி ஆலயத்தில் விளக்கெரிய வழி காணோம் !

பிள்ளை வரம் வேண்டிக் கோவிலில் பிச்சை
பிள்ளைப் பசி போக்க வீதியில் பிச்சை !

கள்ளைக் குடிப்பவன் ஒரு குடிகாரன் என்றால்
கள்ளை விற்பவன் பல குடிகேடி ஆகானா ?

மழை பொழிய வேண்டி நடத்துவார் யாகம் !
மழை நிற்காமல் பெய்தால் கொள்ளுவார் சோகம் !

வெற்றிலையில் மையிட்டுத் திருடனைக் கண்டு பிடிப்பார் !
விரலில் மையிட்டுத் திருடனை ஆட்சிக்குத் தேர்ந்தெடுப்பார்!

வீட்டில் கள்ளமிட்டத் திருடனுக்குச் சிறைச்சாலைக் கடுங்காவல் !
நாட்டைக் கொள்ளையடிப்போர்க்குக் கோட்டையிலே பலர் காவல் !

my take on this : Though there will be willful absentees in the non voters' percentage , there are also people who have moved out of Chennai for livelihood and yet have their names enrolled in the voters' list, there are also people who have migrated to Chennai for livelihood ,unlawfully(without even understanding the negative effect it has on a large democracy like ours) obtain another voter card in Chennai, residence proof being a major reason, in spite of them having their names enrolled in their native constituencies, resulting in double time entry in voter's list. This category of people either go to their constituency to vote or just enjoy the extra holiday. That is why the poll percentage is very low. Again this is just my theory.
