Hi All,

Thanks for the golden information about the vadamalai
and jhangrimalai.
Betel leaves malai has to include the arecanut, how to make this malai?
because I usually saw betel leaves only.

Hi,

The betel nut has to be placed in the middle of the leaf, then fold the leaves ( roll and fold) and this could be made as garland.

Bhuvat, interesting read. Each action and custom followed in Hindu tradition has great value in it. Thanks for sharing info. Now I have another question. Why do we offer vadamalai to vilakku. In our tradition, when we lite a vilakku for first time, we normally make vadamalai and then offers prayers and lite the vilakku. If any one to explain that ?
