    2 tbsp potato starch = 1 egg

    1 tbsp soy milk powder + 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water = 1 egg.

Re: What is a good subsitute for eggs?

    Dear Krishnaamma,

Yes, I have used Ener G Egg Replacer. It is a very good product and has no eggs in it. It has potato starch, tapioca flour and other leavening agents. It is gluten free, wheat free and has no preservatives or artificial flavourings . It is sugar free also.

I have tried many cakes from this egg replacer. 1-1/2 teaspoons of ener G plus 2 tablespoons of warm water equals one egg.
It is nutritionally not the same as eggs.

If you go to their websites they have given many cake recipes. I have tried many of them. Have come out well.

    Hope the info was useful

    Hi Sundari,

I guess you are not looking for the usual upma, pongal stuff. When are your guest coming? let us know. Is it today am? or do we have some time? If not, then I would suggest:

Potato Poha ( can be made without onions), puli aval, or coconul aval. Any mixed Sevai. If you have time what about uppu kozhakattai, and so also pidi kozhakattai. A small burfi or a small helping of chakrapongal, or some such sweet , plus coffee .

Anyway do let us know what you made.

    Dear Sunkan,

Keeping in mind the age group you have mentioned, I would serve the following.

    Idlis with different chutneys
    Vegetable salads
    Fruit salads
    Fruit juice/coffee

    Regards,

    TDU
