    Dear Chitra Maami,

I had posted my query on 16th Sept (post # 444). Look like you've missed it. Looking forward to your reply.

I saw some insects in the rice stored in the 'arisi drum'. Immediately remembered that you had given some tip, using some powder etc. to protect stored rice. Unable to locate that tip. Can you please give me the link for it.

Sorry, Nandhita, for missing your post.
Add boric powder bought from medical shops - 1 tsp per 10kgs, mix thoroughly & keep. Wash very well before usingthe rice.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Maami,

I found 'Boric Acid power' - not for medical use, in a shop. Is that the one you are speaking about?

    Hello Chitra Maami,

Is there anything such as the perfect pullao? Does not seem to happen in my home.

Whenever I make a plain pullao, the end result is always sticky or mushy. With regards to the rice:water ratio, I have tried adding 1:2 as well as 1:1.5 but either it turns out soft or does not cook completely. It is an even bigger problem if for instance I want to make vegetable pulao, as the veggies dont get cooked and then I have to add more water or milk and you can imagine the end result.

I would appreciate it if you could help me with this.

    Love, Muskaan
