    Hi,

Even I am interested in learning Tanjore painting.
Can somebody let me know about Tanjore Painting classes in or around Banaswadi, bangalore.

I checked 1-2 classes in Indiranagar, Bangalore. But the charges are too high. For a 15 by 24 inches Radha krishna painting like the attached one the charge was 16,000 Rs with Material ..:spin Please let me know if it is reasonable.

    hi,
sorry to hear that but that is a n outrageous price to quote for such a size painting.
here is how u can calculate.....

plywood board..waterproof........of this size costs around hardly 600 rupees.

1 kg of chalk powder..135 rupees
    ,arabic gum 250 gms..100 rupees,
    small fevicol tube..10 rupee,
    stones ..3d(kundan+american diamond ones..maximum 1000 rupees),
    gold foil booklets..25sheets in each..2 nos..1500, framing...maximum..1000-1500...
that's all, it hardly adds upto 5ooo or so rupees.
thought i will just give u the basics ideas about expenses involved!i have thought my students even bigger designs at half the price of what u have
    reffered to here.

    hope this helped..

    bye,
    shubha
